DREAMING OF FLOWERS: Marc Jacobs is adding another Daisy to the garden he began in 2007. Daisy Dream, the latest Daisy incarnation, is due out in July and the designer has tapped longtime friend Sofia Coppola to create an ethereal TV ad intended to portray the playful nature of the fragrance. Juergen Teller shot the print ads, which also focus on the bottle’s whimsy.
Revealed at a New York event this week, perfumer Alberto Morillas of Firmenich headed up the development of the scent. The composition tends to create a “blue effect,” Daisy Dream perfume reveals a fruity floral world presenting stimulating notes of blackberry, grapefruit and delicious pear in the beginning whilst the dream livens the elegant heart with jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria. The whole fantasy is positioned on the splendid desire of classiness and feelings in the dry down using white woods, musk and coconut water.
The bottle is a free-spirited interpretation of the original Daisy bottle, with daisies festooning the top of the bottle like a lei and juice tinted sky blue.
Daisy Dream is set to hit US stores in July (August for Europe and Australia).

A classic of Issey Miyake men’s fragrances, the bottle is dressed in black to celebrate the night. Crafted to blend shadow and light, the glass changes from a smoky gradation to a streaked black, an abstract monochrome etched into the material itself. In the black hue of the glass we discover the moon’s reflection and its halo of light on the water’s surface. Resting elegantly atop the bottle, the opaque and deep black cap brings a matte effect.
Nocturnal reverie. The box also conveys the contrast, the variation of the two black tones that adorn the bottle, separated by a symbolic horizon line.
Beyond colour, the absence of all colour, non-colour… black is mystery.

According to Dominique Ropion and Loc Dong, the two perfumers, Nuit d’Issey was built on a leather backbone surrounded by woods and spices. Their composition was designed to convey the idea of “adding light to the night”.
The strength of woods and the potency of sensual, leathery notes underscore the intentionally very masculine character of Nuit d’Issey, a spicy, woody, leathery fragrance.

Bond No. 9 launches its newest beach scent, Shelter Island.
First the Hamptons. Then Montauk and Sag Harbor. And at last comes Shelter Island, Bond No. 9’s Summer ’14 beach scent (an astonishing marine oud).The East End is now fully perfumed.
It’s nearly summer, so that means a new New York beach-centric scent from Bond No. 9.
As in the past, the brand found inspiration from the East End — those two spits of precious, all but priceless land and shoreline which literally jut out from the easternmost end of Long Island into the North Atlantic. Also referred to as the North and South Forks, this is the fabled, sought-after terrain where untold numbers of Manhattan denizens choose to occasionally (and amazingly) relax on July and August weekends.
Bond No. 9 already has featured the ultra-stylish, see-and-be-seen Hamptons; the still somewhat funky former fishing outpost of Montauk; and the quaint village of Sag Harbor, which retains its old-fashioned charm.
Shelter Island, 27 square miles located sandwiched between the North and South Forks, complete with a sizable nature preserve, meandering creeks, wandering deer, and Queen Anne and Colonial Revival mansions, is the summer ’14 beach scent, on counters Memorial Day.

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs, who has made a major contribution to fragrance bottle designing with his eye for fashionable over the top whimsy is launching a new flanker to Honey called Pink Honey. It’s a good pretext to dye the ridiculously cute bottle in champagne pink for a slight dress change and variation on color…
The new edition, like the original, is created by Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb. Pink Honey is announced as both refreshing and warm, charming, lively and chic. The Honey Fragrance is a sunny floral, full of bright energy with a touch of the unexpected. The bottle is splashed in this season’s sweetest shade, Marc Jacobs Pink Honey Edition’s bold stripes, feminine dots and new punch of colour meet in a graphically clever way, painted in a soft coral color. It is available as 50 ml Eau de Parfum.
The scent begins with notes of pear, fruity punch and juicy tangerine. The heart balances in rhythm with the floral note of orange blossom maintaining the signature ingredient of the classic formula but now mixed with marvelous honeysuckle and exquisite peach ambrosia. Paco Rabanne is gearing up to launch what it calls the second chapter in its Lady Million franchise. Called Eau My Gold!, the new scent is described as a evoking a new facet of the Lady Million.
Luxury and the hedonism that the original represents have been replaced by inspirations of a festive mood and somewhat simpler pleasures. Similar to the whole range, just as before, formulated by Anne Flipo the aroma opens with notes of fascinating, fresh and tasty mango combined with a hint of grapefruit. Fruity notes escalate, sparked by a touch of neroli essence. The center of Lady Million Eau My Gold holds the identity of the eau de parfum and is produced by an essence of orange blossom, paired with the revitalizing elixir of violet leaf. In the base Eau My Gold wraps up with woody perfumed notes supported with amber and musk notes. Cedar mixes with the warm amber and musk, giving character to the dazzling aspects of this new scent Lady Million.
The Eau My Gold bottle, designed as a diamond, is transparent and luminous and features a golden cap that contains Paco Rabanne’s latest “elixir of happiness,” aimed to satisfy the sophisticated and eclectic woman who also fancies herself “superior to men.” Now, whether the stuff is actually as exuberant and joyful as it claims is yet to be seen.

Dunhill has launched Desire Black, a new fragrance for men.
Desire Black is a flanker to 2000’s Dunhill Desire, and is apparently unrelated to 2008’s Dunhill Black.

The front facet detail of Desire Black synergizes with an array of masculine dunhill products, including the celebrated car head lamp and facet watch.
The ingenious cap is representative of dunhill’s clever British edge while the sheer back of the bottle adds an element of pure sensuality. The duality of the bottle exhibits all that this fragrance stands for: to desire and to be desired.
