Tommy Bahama introduces a new fragrance for men, MARITIME, that has been exclusively available since November 25th, 2016 (Black Friday) on the official website of TommyBahama.com.
MARITIME is an ode to the dynamics and power of the sea and draws inspiration from sailing and marine aromas that affect all our senses beneficially. The fragrance is aimed at men who yearn for nature, adventure and exploration, and blends plant and marine aromas evoking the warm tropical flavors of the trade route winds that blow over crystal clear water.
The complexity of the composition is reflected in the combination of citruses and spices, herbs and marine notes, flowers, wood, and musk. The opening of the composition features bergamot, lavender, pink pepper and sage. The heart introduces a floral blend of water lily and jasmine together with elegant violet leaf, a tart hint of geranium and ambergris. All is surrounded with cedar, sandalwood, musk and moss in the base. The composition is signed by Frank Voelkl, a perfumer of the house of Firmenich.
Frank Voelkl, senior perfumer at Firmenich who composed the newest Tommy Bahama Maritime For Men, said about his creation: “There’s an energy and feeling of speed in a rolling wave in the top notes of Maritime that hook you right in. As the wave gains height and power, so does the heart of the fragrance, it slowly emerges and crests the top when it encounters the momentum of the dry down notes.”
The flacon of Maritime is available as a 125ml Eau de Cologne. The cap is made in the form of a cleat for the ropes of a ship, which crowns the massive blue glass bottle.

Guerlain presents new limited edition fragrances for Les Quatres Saisons collection. The new addition to the collection includes four scented “poems” in bottles, inspred by and named after the four seasons: Le Printemps, L’Été, L’Automne and L’Hiver. The fragrances are developed by Thierry Wasser, bottled in the signature Baccarat “quadrilobe” flacons decorated by designer Janaïna Milheiro.
Le Printemps is a fresh floral fragrance of spring. Bergamot and hyacinth cross into the heart of freesia, Bulgarian rose and cyclamen. The base ends with a touch of white musk.
L’Été evokes a sunny summer day with citruses, flowers and fruity aromas. The top notes of lemon and bergamot form an introduction to the sweet and warm heart of peach and jasmine, all laid on a base of hay, carnation and vanilla.
L’Automne offers powdery floral and woody aromas which reflect the scents of fall. Citruses in the top lead to the heart of iris, vetiver and cedar and the base of moss, patchouli and tonka bean.
L’Hiver, a perfume equivalent of winter and snow, starts with cool notes of pine and angelica. The heart of iris and ambrette seed is placed on the base of incense, amber and white musk.

Givenchy presents L’Ange Noir, the new “black angel” fragrance that follows the line of Ange ou Demon from 2006 and Ange Ou Demon Le Secret from 2009. L’Ange Noir comes out in fall 2016, representing irresistible mystery and the ultimate paradox: “Radiant as an angel, elusive as the darkness.” L’Ange Noir, inspired by the style of crime cinema that is film noir, is the seductive potion of a femme fatale, described as elegant, unique, audacious and desirable.
“Each woman is an enigma, playing with her power of seduction. The evidence? … her fragrance. Between shadow and light, a unique trail that fascinates by the contrasting encounter of white iris and black sesame encapsulated in a precious glittered bottle… L’Ange Noir, or the spellbinding story of a fragrance with a soul apart. Darkness and light…”
The composition is a powdery floriental combination of light and dark notes. It opens with a blend of bergamot, pink pepper and fresh almond. The mild powdery character of pure white iris, one of the noblest of flowers, is mixed with slightly salty black sesame in the heart. The base finishes up with warm tones of tonka bean, ambrette seeds and amber.

Heart: white iris, sesame

Michael Kors has announced the launch of its new Wonderlust fragrance, available nationwide from 14 September.
The concept of “escape” is central to the WONDERLUST story, Michael Kors told WWD. This story, he elaborated, includes a corresponding ad and video campaign depicting the face of the scent: a gold, sequined-dress-clad Lily Aldridge, in an unknown far-flung locale. She is escaping from a yacht into a small speedboat with her paramour, Dutch model Wouter Peelen, into a rose-fueled sunset. As a game on words, Wanderlust (which denotes a great wish of travelling) is the desire for escape in Kors’ collection. The campaign was developed by Mario Testino.
The fragrance will thrill Europeans, consumers in America, as well as perfume fans in the Middle East. Its unique composition will attract numerous fans of gourmand notes created in a sophisticated way.
“If you were on that yacht, you would be drinking a good rosé. I love the rose color; it’s the first grab for most of our girls…and the ombré effect of bottle and box, has this effervescence that would come from a good, pink champagne. It has that attitude,” Kors said. “In this instance, there is a girl who is at a party and says, ‘Lets get the hell out of here.’ ”
The composition of the new fragrance was created in partnership with Firmenich by perfumers Honorine Blanc and Aurelien Guichard, as gourmand (a synthetic note with “edible,” sweet qualities). The focus lies on the dianthus flower to give Wonderlust the feel of an almond milk that’s been blended with a “spicy, creamy floral.” Top notes of almond milk are accompanied by heliotrope placed at the hart of the fragrance. The base of the composition provides benzoin, a natural resin from Thailand leaving the impression of warmth, and the spicy sweetness of cinnamon.
“I wanted something that’s feminine, not in an insipid way, but in a streamlined, modern way. It’s the same way with the gourmand. The almond milk has something delicious, but not edible or sticky,” the designer continued. “Our girl is looking for a way to experience and have fun but stay within her world.” – as explained by Michael Kors.

The successor of the men’s fragrance David Beckham Beyond launched in June 2016 under the name Beyond Forever and is composed as an aromatic fougere which presents a fresher face of its woody-spicy antecedent, focused on the topic of decisiveness and persistence.
